Why do FAQs matter?FAQs are a great way to help site visitors find quick answers to common questions about your business and create a better navigation experience.

What is an FAQ section?An FAQ section can be used to quickly answer common questions about your business like "Where do you ship to?", "What are your opening hours?", or "How can I book a service?".

How early should I arrive?We recommend arriving 30 minutes before your scheduled cruise to allow time for parking, check-in, and boarding. Late arrivals may be considered no-shows.

Can I bring my own snorkeling gear?Absolutely. While we don’t provide snorkeling equipment, guests are welcome to bring their own for use during beach stops at Cape Lookout.

Where do the cruises depart from?All cruises depart from the Beaufort Docks, located at 600 Front Street, Beaufort, NC. Please check your confirmation email for specific details and be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure.

Is there an age requirement to join a cruise?All ages are welcome! Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Guests 21 and older must present valid photo ID to consume alcoholic beverages.

What should I bring?We recommend: Sunscreen & sunglasses Hat or light jacket Towel or swimsuit (Cape Lookout Cruise) Valid photo ID (for alcoholic beverages) Camera or phone for photos

Do I need to sign a waiver?Yes, all guests are required to sign a waiver before participating in any cruise. This may be completed electronically at the time of booking or in person before boarding.

Can I bring my pet?We allow service animals only for safety and comfort. No pets or emotional support animals are permitted on board.

Are photos and videos allowed?Yes! You're welcome to take as many photos or videos as you like. Tag us @lookoutcruises when you share on social media!

Is the boat wheelchair accessible?While our crew will assist however possible, the docks and vessel may not be fully accessible for all mobility devices. Please contact us in advance so we can discuss accommodations.

Are restrooms available on the boat?Yes, our catamaran is equipped with clean and spacious marine restrooms for guest use during all cruises.

Will I have cell service during the cruise?You’ll likely have service near the shore, but coverage may be limited in open water. Take it as a chance to unplug and relax!

Do you sell items on board?Yes! We sell a selection of Lookout Cruises merchandise on board, including t-shirts, hats, towels, and beer koozies. Be sure to check them out during your cruise—great for souvenirs or gifts!

Do you offer private charters?Yes! We offer custom private charters for families, special events, weddings, corporate outings and more. Contact us for details and pricing.

Is food included?Yes! Our Cape Lookout Cruise (6 hours) includes a picnic-style lunch and soft drinks. You're also welcome to bring your own snacks. Alcohol is BYOB and only for guests 21+.

Will we see dolphins or wild horses?Wildlife sightings, especially dolphins and horses on Shackleford Banks, are common but not guaranteed, as we explore natural habitats.

What safety measures do you have on board?Safety is our top priority. Our captains and crew are fully trained in first aid and CPR, and our vessels are equipped with life jackets, first aid kits, marine radios, and U.S. Coast Guard–approved safety equipment. We also monitor weather conditions continuously and will cancel or modify a trip if necessary to ensure the safety of all guests.

What happens if it rains?We cruise rain or shine, but safety is our priority. If the captain cancels the trip due to unsafe conditions, you may reschedule or receive a full refund.

How can I book a cruise?You can book online anytime at www.lookoutcruises.com through our secure system powered by FareHarbor. You can also reserve in person at our ticket booth on the Beaufort waterfront, where we accept both credit cards and cash. For questions or group bookings, feel free to call us at 252-504-7245.

Can I buy tickets in person?Yes! You can reserve and pay at our ticket booth using cash or card, subject to availability. However, we strongly recommend booking online in advance.

What payment methods do you accept?We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) for online bookings through our secure FareHarbor system. You can also pay in person at our ticket booth with credit cards or cash. Full payment is required to confirm your reservation.

What is your cancellation policy?Cancel 48+ hours in advance: Full refund or free rescheduling. Cancel within 48 hours: No refund. Groups of 10+ must cancel 7+ days in advance for refund eligibility. No-shows and late arrivals forfeit payment.

Can I reschedule my cruise?Yes, as long as you notify us at least 48 hours before your scheduled departure (or 7 days in advance for groups of 10 or more). Rescheduling is subject to availability. Requests made after these timeframes are not eligible and will be treated as cancellations with no refund.
